Fishing Reports

2010

What a season 2010 has been on the Potomac.  Snakeheads are entrenched on the Potomac River from Woodrow Wilson Bridge down to Phohic Bay.  Many reports of catches and many reports of multiple hook ups.  As well as rumors at the boat ramps about an 18 pound one being taken.  The largest I landed this year is 9.5lbs.  Secondary Creek channels with emerging or present grass is holding a good amount of fish.  Try for them on top with long casts and walk the dog type baits.  If the grass is to heavy switch to a buzzing frog.  If you cant get them to bite on top I have hooked a bunch by Texas rigging a Senko and working it like a jerk bait.  Pop the senko let it go slack pop it again.  Almost all bites come on the drop so watch your line.  Use at least 30 lb braid.  I have been snapping anything less.  Get yourself a good pair of Kaenon sunglasses these are hands down the best fishing glasses I have ever used.  www.kaenon.com I also am a huge fan of FINS braid. Best braid in the business!  http://www.buyfins.com/
